Dr. Melvin Thornton

As of November 2024, Dr. Melvin Thornton II is the new Proprietor & Medical Director at GFG and is committed to compassionate, ethical, and personalized patient care for every intended parent. Dr. Thornton is recognized worldwide as one of the top experts in the field of assisted reproduction.

Dr. Melvin H. Thornton II is double board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine. He has dedicated many years to teaching and mentoring medical students and gives board review lectures for OB/GYN, Family Medicine, and Pediatrics residents.

He is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) and The American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). He has been helping to build families in New York and the Tri-state area for over 25 years.

Dr. Thornton is one of the world’s leading experts in egg donation and surrogacy and has done extensive research in fertility treatment for HIV+ couples. His patients describe him as a reassuring, caring, and personable physician.
